Environmental Education

The Conservancy and Fairmount Park educators have teamed up since 2004 to provide outdoor environmental education experiences to local school children at the Wissahickon and Pennypack environmental centers. Students can learn about watersheds, local wildlife, geology, and even maple sugaring in some of the many acres of natural areas that make up Fairmount Park. Free transportation aboard the "EcoBus" makes this rewarding experience affordable for all children. Read More.

Founded in 2000, the Fairmount Park Conservancy is an independent nonprofit organization that seeks to foster an ongoing partnership between the public and private sectors to reclaim Fairmount Park as a focal point for Philadelphia's economic development and neighborhood renewal.
